Rick Nelson is Vice Chairman, CIO Third Party Business for ING Investment Management Americas, which operates in the institutional, managed account and alternative markets. In his role, Rick is responsible for leading all investment activities across the equity and fixed income platforms. This encompasses portfolio oversight, investment team review, and managing ING Investment's strategic Investment Process and Risk Management functions. Rick has over 23 years of investment management experience. Prior to joining ING Investment Management in 2003, he was with JPMorgan Fleming Investment Management, Inc., where he was Head of the U.S. Equity Group as well as a member of the Global and U.S. Executive Committees. Before that he was at Bankers Trust, where he was part of the Global Investment Management Group and led the Global Quantitative Applications Group. Rick received his B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Christopher Corapi joined ING Investment Management in February 2004 as Director of U.S. equity research and Manager of VP growth and income portfolio. Chris has over 25 years of investment experience. Prior to joining ING, he was the global head of equity research at Federated Investors. Previously he was head of U.S. equities and portfolio manager at Credit Suisse Asset Management. Prior to that, Chris was with JPMorgan Investment Management as head of emerging markets research and was a U.S. equity analyst at Sanford C. Bernstein & Company. He holds a B.S. in business administration from Alfred University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Steve Salopek

Steve Salopek joined ING Investment Management in June 2005 from Banc One Investment Advisors, where he was a portfolio manager directing $700 million in small-cap growth assets. He has worked in portfolio management and sector research roles for the past 18 years and has extensive experience with equity research, portfolio management and developing a robust investment process. Reporting to Head of Fundamental Equity Chris Corapi, Steve is responsible for working with the portfolio management teams to enhance the approach and structure of the firm’s small-cap equity investment strategies. Prior to Banc One, he was with Stein Roe & Farnham where he managed small-cap growth assets for institutional clients. Steve earned his B.S. and M.B.A. from The Ohio State University.

Uri Landesman is Head of Global Growth. He joined ING Investment Management in February 2006 as Senior Portfolio Manager on the international investment team reporting to Christopher Corapi, the Head of the Fundamental Equity team. Uri has over 23 years of investment experience. Prior to joining ING, he was the director of global equity research at Federated Investors where he managed three international large-cap growth funds and two global funds. Previously he was a principal with Arlington Capital Management where he co-managed a core equity hedge fund and a senior portfolio manager with JPMorgan Investment Management where he managed a large-cap growth equity strategy. Prior to that, Uri was an analyst with Great Lakes Capital and Sanford Bernstein. He received a B.A. summa cum laude from Yeshiva College. He has been the recipient of several industry citations, including the "Best of the Buy Side" in Institutional Investor and "25 to Watch Over the Next 25 Years" in Pension & Investments.

Carl Ghielen is a Senior Portfolio Manager in the Quantitative Equity Team, where he is responsible for quantitative equity portfolio management. Carl has 18 years of investment management experience. Carl joined the firm in 2000 as a Senior Investment Manager in the European Equity team. Carl started his career in 1990 as Investment Advisor at General Investment Management in Eindhoven, an independent boutique investment manager. Prior to joining ING Investment Management, Carl worked from 1994 to 2000 for Mn Services (one of the largest pension funds in the Netherlands) as Senior Portfolio Manager European Equities. Carl holds a Master’s degree in Economics (focus: Business Economics) from Tilburg University. Carl holds an RBA degree, a Dutch equivalent to CFA.

Pieter Schop
Senior Portfolio Manager

   


Pieter Schop is Senior Investment Manager Equities in the Global Equity Core Team. In his role he combines stock selection and portfolio management activities. Prior to this position Pieter was a Senior Investment Manager in the European Equity Team. In this team he was a sector specialist most recently for the Telecom and Cyclical Services sectors. Moreover, he managed a number of segregated mandates. He started his career at ING Investment Management in 1996. Prior to ING Investment Management he worked at Mercer Ten Pas, a consulting firm, where Pieter made assessments of key institutional investors. He obtained his masters degree in econometrics at the State University of Groningen in 1994.

Philip Schwartz is Senior Portfolio Manager for the international value strategy and has 21 years investment experience, 18 of which covering international markets. Gene Lancaric

Eugene Lancaric has 27 years of investment experience. He joined ING Investment Management in 2001 from Alliance/Bernstein, where he was senior vice president and chief investment officer of the Regent Investor Services division. He previously held the position of research analyst at Strategic Economic Divisions, a leading-edge investment research and software development firm. Eugene worked earlier as a senior global portfolio manager at Swiss Bank Corporation; as a senior portfolio manager at E.F. Hutton; and as a portfolio manager and analyst at the Chase Manhattan Bank. He has an extensive background in the application of economic analysis to investment management. Eugene received an M. Phil. in economics from the City University of New York, and graduated with honors in sociology from McGill University.

David Rabinowitz joined ING in January 2008 as the Deputy Director of U.S. Equity Research and Senior Sector Analyst covering the consumer sector. David has 21 years of investment experience. He joined ING from JPMorgan, where he held several equity leadership positions. Most recently, he served as Director of Emerging Markets Equity Research, and before that, was the Director of Global Sector Research. Paul Zemsky, CFA
Head of Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions Group

Paul Zemsky is the head of ING’s Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions Group. The team’s mandate is to develop products and provide investment solutions that go beyond ING’s traditional investment offerings. The group combines capabilities in derivatives/financial engineering, risk management, asset allocation, liability modeling and pension accounting and multi-strategy portable alpha. Paul joined ING Investment Management in 2005 as Head of Derivative Strategies. In this role, he oversaw derivative strategies for credit, interest rate, and equity products, and supported the organization on a number of key areas, including product development and risk management for both proprietary and third-party businesses. Prior to his role at ING, Paul spent 18 years at J.P. Morgan Investment Management, where he held a number of key positions, including having responsibility for the market timing and asset allocation for the firm's fixed income business and handling option trading in both the exchange-traded and over-the-counter markets. He was one of the first on Wall Street to identify the potential for portable alpha strategies and liability targeted portfolios. Most recently, he co-founded CaliberOne Private Funds Management, a macro hedge fund. Paul has 21 years of investment experience. He holds a dual degree in finance and electrical engineering from the Management and Technology Program at the University of Pennsylvania.

Pierre Couture, A.S.A., E.A., M.A.A.A.
Senior Pension Actuary

Pierre Couture joined ING in March of 2007 as a Senior Pension Actuary for Multi-Asset Strategies including traditional asset allocation products, portable alpha strategies, and customized asset/liability solutions that address clients’ plan level investment objectives. Prior to joining ING, Pierre consulted to US (public, Taft-Hartley and corporate) and multinational clients seeking integrated financial risk management advice for their pension plans. He specialized in asset/liability modeling, strategic asset allocation, funding, and accounting policy diagnostics. Before joining Mercer’s New York office in 1994, Pierre worked in the Mercer’s Montreal office for over four years. Pierre holds a BSc in actuarial sciences from Universite Laval in Quebec City. He is an Associate of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.

Brian Gendreau, Ph.D.
Investment Strategist


Brian Gendreau is an Investment Strategist with ING Investment Management. He is a member of its asset allocation committee, which sets the investment strategy for over $12 billion in ING’s asset allocation, lifecycle, and balanced funds. Brian has a B.A. in economics from Northwestern University, a M.A. from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Relations, and a PhD in Business Economics from the Wharton School. He has taught in the MBA programs at Wharton and New York University, and has contributed to academic journals in economics and finance. Before coming to Wall Street, he served as a staff economist with the Federal Reserve Board and the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He worked for JP Morgan, Salomon Smith Barney, and Heckman Global Advisors prior to joining ING in 2004. Brian appears frequently on CNBC and Bloomberg television and radio.

Joan Dillon joined ING Investment Management in 2004 as Senior Sector Analyst covering the health care sector from Equinox Capital Management where she was senior analyst for the health care and consumer staples sectors. Previously, Joan was a health care analyst with Dreyfus Corporation, JPMorgan, and CS First Boston. She began her career as a quantitative research specialist at CS First Boston. She has 21 years of professional experience, including 14 years as an analyst in the investment business. Joan earned a B.S. Previously, he was a principal of Phoenix Strategies, an investment management and consulting firm. He began his career with Wells Fargo Credit Corporation. Eleonora Omarova
Senior Quantitative Analyst

   


Eleonora (Nora) Omarova joined ING Investment Management in July 2007 as a Senior Quantitative Analyst in the Multi-Asset Strategies and Solutions Group. Nora has nine years of financial experience. Prior to joining ING, she worked as a senior global risk analyst with Citigroup. She developed Citigroup internal sovereign rating and currency devaluation models, and a methodology for setting limits on options vega exposure for proprietary trading portfolios. Prior to Citigroup, she worked for Travelers Investment Group, where she developed a sovereign bond model to predict spread movements and determine investment strategy for an emerging markets portfolio. Nora holds a M.A. degree from Columbia School of International Affairs, a M.S. in Finance from Columbia Business School and is a Ph.D. candidate in Finance at Columbia Business School. She is a recipient of the National Association for Business Economics Contributed Paper Award for her publication in the Business Economics journal.

Karthik Radhakrishnan joined ING Investment Management in May 2007. Seth Finkelstein is the Senior Portfolio Specialist responsible for Multi-Asset Strategies including traditional asset allocation products, portable alpha strategies, and customized asset/liability solutions that address clients’ plan level investment objectives. Additionally, Seth has oversight responsibility for the broader team of Portfolio Specialists based in New York, and is involved extensively in new product development in the institutional as well as structured product arenas. Seth joined ING Investment Management in 2005 as Senior Portfolio Specialist, responsible for a variety of Fundamental Equity strategies, including the 130/30 Fundamental Equity strategy, Research Analyst Portfolio, and sector-specific portfolios.

Seth has 12 years investment experience spanning a variety of traditional and alternative asset classes, and has worked with a broad spectrum of retail and institutional client segments. Prior to joining ING, Seth was with Seneca Capital Management where he served as a portfolio advisor on the firm’s growth equity and domestic fixed income strategies. Earlier in his career, Seth was a lead product manager for JPMorgan Investment Management’s retirement business. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.B.A. in finance from Baruch College and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Martin Jansen is Senior Portfolio Specialist with primary responsibility for international equities. Martin has 27 years of investment experience. Most recently, he was responsible for managing the transition of the U.S. equity trading facility and U.S. equity assets from ING Investment Management The Hague to ING Aeltus. He joined ING in 1997 as senior manager to co-manage U.S. equity portfolios and was named head of the U.S. equity team in 1999. Prior to joining ING, Martin was responsible for the U.S. equity and venture capital portfolios at a large corporate Dutch pension fund. He received a Bachelor of Commerce and M.B.A. from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.

His commentaries are published weekly on the RealMoney site of TheStreet.com, a leading on-line investment website where he has been a weekly contributor since 1997. His 36 years of experience as an observer of money, bond, equity, currency and commodity markets serves as the wellspring for his commentaries. He is a monthly contributor to the Blue Chip Financial Forecasts survey and is quoted often in The Wall Street Journal, Business Week, Bloomberg, Fortune, and other financial media. Jim retired in 1999 from his position as chief investment strategist at Aeltus, an ING Investment predecessor firm. He was previously chief economist for Aetna Life and Casualty and served as its chief portfolio strategist for asset allocation for pension clients. Prior experience includes his money market economist role at Hartford National Bank and service as an intelligence officer in the US Army. He has B.A. and M.A. degrees in international economics from the University of Connecticut, and has served on the adjunct faculties of the University of Hartford and the Hartford Graduate Center. Nanette Buziak

Nanette Buziak joined ING Investment Management as Head of U.S. Equity Trading in March 2005. In this role, she is responsible for all equity trading operations and focuses on working with the trading desk, portfolio managers and analysts in streamlining trading-related functions. She has centralized ING Investment Management's domestic equity trading in New York, and is focused on enhancing the information flow between investment professionals, and further integrating trading into the Alpha generating investment process. Nanette has 15 years of experience in trading and portfolio management. She joined ING Investment Management from JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management where she was a senior portfolio manager responsible for the structured equity portfolios. There she leveraged her extensive skills in trading and market insights to determine the best mechanism for executing portfolio strategy such as block trading, crossing networks and package trading. Her previous experience includes roles as trader and portfolio manager for First Marathon America, Inc.'s domestic convertible bond arbitrage portfolio and as a member of the program trading team. Prior to this she was a financial analyst at Bear Stearns & Company, Inc. Nanette received a B.B.A. in applied actuarial mathematics from Bryant College in May 1993.

Prior to joining ING Investment Management, Enrico was at TradeTrek Securities LLC, a sell-side agency only algorithmic trading broker/dealer, where he was Managing Director and Head Trader. His responsibilities included managing the development, build-out, and implementation from the ground up of the firm’s algorithmic trading desk. Enrico also worked for 6 years at Fidelity Investments in New York City as an equity trader. Prior to his investment experience, Enrico was a Captain in the U.S. Army serving with the 5th Special Forces, as well as other Special Operation Forces throughout the U.S. and Middle East. Enrico earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace Systems) from the United States Military Academy at West Point, as well as graduate studies in Computational Finance from Carnegie Mellon University.
